China's Air Force Commander Begins Visit to S.Korea

South Korean Defense Minister Cho Sung-tae met visiting Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force Commander Liu Shunyao, expressing wish to develop military ties between the two countries.

Liu, who arrived here Monday afternoon from Japan for a four- day official visit at the invitation of Korean Air Force Chief of General Staff Lee Ok-soo, has met South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Cho Yung-kil.

During his visit, Liu is scheduled to discuss ways to promote exchanges between the two air forces with Lee and will visit South Korean Air Force headquarters, the South Korea Air Force Academy and several defense industry companies.

After his South Korean visit, Liu will visit Belgium and Turkey.
