Ankang to Wuhan Flight Service Opens

A new flight service from Ankang, in west China's Shaanxi Province to Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, opened Wednesday.

The service will include four flights a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, sources said.

The flight from Ankang to Wuhan will take one hour, over a distance of 640 km.

Ankang Airport opened in 1938, and flight to Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, started in 1964, but were suspended in 1986 until they resumed in 1995.

The opening of the new flight has facilitated northwest China communications condition and is helpful to economic development in the region, sources said.
