Project to Trace Ancient Chinese Civilization to Be Kicked Off
Following close on a dynastic division of Xia, Shang and Zhou, another state key project combining many associated subjects to trace ancient Chinese Civilization will soon be kicked off. Preparatory work has been now underway.
From successful completion of the study project of dynastic division there has been yielded the Chronology of Xia, Shang and Zhou published at the end of last year, which pushed back China's history by 1229 years from 841 B.C. and extended China's history to over 4200 years.
The new project to be launched will focus on a study of the origin, development course and characteristics of Chinese civilization and factors in support of its long-lasting prosperity.
A research center to make a study of ancient Chinese civilization has been set up by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and some 200 erudite experts have been invited for the study from China, the US, UK, Germany and France.
