Shanghai to Attract Overseas Capital to 6 New Pillar Industries

In the coming 5 years, Shanghai will allure overseas capital to develop its 6 new pillar industries.

Shanghai has signed agreement with overseas investors on US$ 5.5 billion, and US$ 4.5 billion has been realized.

In addition to the adjustment of capital attracting plan, the city also will make breakthroughs in capital attracting policy. It will promote non-state-owned enterprises, especially the hi-tech enterprises among them to take advantage of overseas capital. At the same time, overseas investors are encouraged to buy the Chinese enterprises.

To make the city more competitive in the new century, Shanghai has redefined its 6 pillar industries, which are information, commercial circulation, automobile manufacture, whole set equipment manufacture and real estate. Compared with the old ones, the new 6 pillar industries are more hi-tech and service oriented.
