US Spy Plane Incident Not Isolated Case: Cuban Daily

The collision of a US surveillance plane with a Chinese fighter jet on Sunday "is not an isolated case," a Cuban newspaper said Friday.

The incident, which left the pilot missing, can not be viewed as an isolated case, and the US government has declared China as its strategic competitor, the Cuban daily "Rebellious Youth" said.

"The incident reflects the dangers in a world where so-called Washington security interests justify any venture," said the report.

After the collision, the Chinese government demanded the Bush Administration take responsibility and apologize over the incident. But the US side has so far only expressed their regret on the loss of jet and the death of the pilot.
