Nigeria Condoles Loss of Chinese Pilot

The Nigerian government has expressed its condolence to the government and people of China over the loss of a Chinese pilot in a plane collision involving an American spy aircraft and a Chinese fighter.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dubem Onyia conveyed the Nigerian government's condolence to China when he met with Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Liang Yinzhu here on Monday.

Onyia said Nigeria expressed the hope that such an incident would not happen again while Liang stressed that the US was entirely responsible for the incident.

On April 1, the US military plane caused the crash of the Chinese fighter off the coast of Hainan Island in South China Sea. Up till now, the Chinese pilot is still missing.
