Celebrations to be Held in Tibet to Mark Liberation Anniversary

The Tibet Autonomous Region will hold a series of celebrations from April to August to commemorate the 50th anniversary for the region's peaceful liberation.

Highlights of the celebration include a grand public rally, exhibitions depicting the achievements made in Tibet over the past 50 years, colorful entertainment performances and trade fairs.

Lhasa, the regional capital, will hold seminars and trade fairs to mark the occasion.

A local publishing house is to release five new books portraying life in various aspects of Tibet. The State Post Bureau will issue a set of postcards to commemorate the occasion.
