Non-Governmental Organ for Environmental Protection Set Up in Inner Mongolia

A non-governmental environmental protection organization in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has announced its formation in this capital city of the region.

The organization, the Baotou Environment Protection Volunteers Association, has gathered some 500 people from all walks of life throughout the city.

The 10 initiators of the association were winners of a knowledge competition on environmental protection organized by relevant departments last year.

According to sources at the association, volunteers will conduct surveys and research, organize activities on environmental protection and help departments concerned with supervision on environmental protection.
