Photo Exhibition Sings Greatness of CPC

An exhibition of 300 pictures of the lives of ordinary Chinese people, reflecting the progress and development of the motherland, opened Friday in Beijing.

The exhibition, titled "Brilliant Rays of the Party Shine over My Family," consists of three parts: the first part records the great care extended to ordinary people by the collective leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC), the second part, which includes photos taken from the 1950s to the 1970s, reflects the history during which Chinese people became masters of their own country and marched towards new lives under the leadership of the CPC, and the third part mainly highlights the happy lives of ordinary Chinese people since the implementation of the reform and opening up drive.

The photographers of the pictures are all ordinary Chinese people, who are amateur photographers.

Liu Hairong, vice-president of the All-China Women's Federation, said at the opening ceremony that since the foundation of the CPC, the Party has regarded it as its own task to liberate all people and to bring benefits to the hard-working masses.

She said, under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people overthrew the rule of imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat- capitalism and the CPC also led the Chinese people in building the old China into a prosperous new China. The reform and opening policy has brought China onto a path of rapid economic growth, she said.

The exhibition is sponsored by the All-China Women's Federation and the national coordinating group for building model families.
