Jiang Zemin Visits Photo Show on CPC History
Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and state president, visited a photo exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the CPC in the Museum of the Chinese Revolution Wednesday.

Other Party and State leaders who visited the photo show with Jiang included Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao, Wei Jianxing and Li Lanqing.

During his visit, Jiang, who is also chairman of the Central Military Commission, carefully looked at the exhibits including photos and articles on the history of the CPC.

Jiang said that the history of the CPC has been one of all the Communists fighting for national independence, the people's liberation, the country's prosperity and the people's happiness.

It is also a history of the Chinese people of all nationalities fighting unremittingly for China's rejuvenation, he said.

It is a textbook for patriotism, which is rich in content and of great significance, Jiang said.

At this important historical moment when the whole Party and the entire people are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the history of the long-term struggle by the CPC and the Chinese people should be used to educate the broad masses of cadres and ordinary people and encourage them to continue to unite and strive for realizing socialist modernization and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Jiang said.
