Exhibit of Publications to Celebrate Party's Birthday

Exhibit of Publications to Celebrate Party's Birthday
An exhibit of publications on the Communist Party of China (CPC) was launched in Beijing on June 23 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Party's founding.

The exhibit is being held jointly by the Press and Publication Bureau of the Department of Publicity of the CPC Central Committee and the General Administration of Press and Publication.

Shi Zongyuan, Director of the administration, said that these publications include theory studies, historic documentation, novels and albums. "They reflect the Party's 80-year development from various angles."

Meanwhile, the exhibit will be shown in 15 big cities around the country until July 10.

Books on the Party history and Party building in one of Beijing 's leading bookstores, Wangfujin, have seen an increase in sales this month with total sales of over 90,000 yuan (10,800 US dollars), 41 percent higher than in May. Some 67 percent of the purchasers are young people and 15 books are now listed as the store's best sellers.
