Typhoon Chebi Arrives at Southern Province
Typhoon Chebi has landed in south China's Fujian Province, local meteorological administration officials said.

The officials said the typhoon, the second such weather front this year, landed on the town of Gaoshan in Fuqing, east of the province, at 10:20 p.m. Saturday night. The typhoon was moving at a speed of 34 meters per second.

The neighboring areas in the province were hit by the typhoon and rainstorm as well.

Weather officials asked the public in the province to heighten their vigilance against landslides and floods caused by torrential rains.

The local governments have mobilized all efforts to prevent loss and casualties.
