China Approves Another Bridge on Yangtze River

China's State Council has approved the building of a bridge on the Yangtze River in Anqing City, Anhui Province in east China.

The planned bridge will be 5,899.5 meters long and cost 1.228 billion yuan. It will be 26 meters wide and has four lanes, said sources from the Department of Communications of the provincial government.

There are currently 24 bridges in use or being built on the Yangtze River, including one in Tongling and another in Wuhu, both cities in Anhui.

Two leading banks in China, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and the Construction Bank of China, have agreed to issue loans for the project in Anqing, said the sources.
