Iceland President attending Ceremony Inaugurating Chinese Film Week

Olafur Ragnar Grimmson, president of Iceland, met with the delegation of the Movie Bureau of China State Administration of Radio, Film and Television which came to Iceland recently for the "Chinese Film Week" in Reykjavik on July 6.

Grimmson held a welcome cocktail party in his presidential palace. Late in the evening, the president was also seen attending the ceremony in inaugurating the "Chinese Film Week".

Thorfinnur Omarsson, director of Icelandic Film Fund, and Wu Ke, deputy director of the Administration of Film of China State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, made speeches at the opening ceremony of the "Chinese Film Week". Chinese film "Emergent Crash Landing" was shown at the opening ceremony. Wang Ronghua, China's Ambassador to Iceland, took part in the said activities.

Organized in accordance with the Sino-Iceland Cultural Exchange Agreement, the "Chinese Film Week" will have seven Chinese films on screen. As scheduled, the "Film Week" is to be concluded on July 11.
