Libyan Leader Ghaddafi Expected in Uganda

Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi is expected to jet into Uganda on Friday or Saturday to attend Toro King Oyo Nyimba's coronation anniversary scheduled for this weekend, Hope Kivengere, Ugandan President's Press Secretary, told Xinhua on Thursday.

"He will come either on Friday or Saturday. That is what we have confirmed," said Kivengere, adding "we have not yet been given his program."

The sixth coronation anniversary celebrations for Toro kingdom child, King Oyo Nyimba IV, will be held on Sunday at the kingdom' s palace in Fort Portal, western district of Kabarole.

The Libyan leader is coming at the invitation of Toro's nine- year-old king through the President's Office.

Gaddaffi was last in the country to attend President Yoweri Museveni's swearing-in ceremony on May 12 at Kololo Airstrip in the capital of Kampala.
