Mongolian News Agency Marks 80th Founding Anniversary

The Mongolian News Agency marked the 80th anniversary of its founding Thursday and the celebration was attended among others by the Mongolian president and prime minister and representatives of the members of the Organization of Asia-Pacific Agencies (OANA).

Addressing the celebration party, President Nachagyn Bagabandy praised the news agency as "the core and the pioneer" of the Mongolian mass media and the "mouthpiece of Mongolia."

He urged the Mongolian News Agency to adapt itself to the new trend of globalization, take full advantage of modern communication technologies to fulfill the task of providing timely news information for its clients and play a key role in reporting Mongolian news and in showing Mongolia to the whole world.

On Wednesday, the Mongolian News Agency sponsored an international seminar, the theme of which was how the OANA members expand their exchange of information in the new circumstances of globalization.
