Bomb Blasts Kill One, Injured 14 in Karachi

One person was killed and at least 14 others injured when two bombs went off in two passenger buses in Pakistan's port city of Karachi on Friday, police said.

According to details, the first explosion destroyed a small passenger bus. One person was killed and 10 others were seriously injured. The bomb, which was left under a seat on the bus above the fuel tank, went off as the crowded vehicle passed near Jama cloth market.

Almost an hour later, another bomb exploded in a bus in the eastern district of Malir, wounding six persons, police said.

A senior police officer described the blasts as act of terrorism. No one has taken responsibility for either explosion and so far police say they have no suspects.
