PLA Chief of General Staff Meets Pakistani Guests

The relationship between China and Pakistan and that between the armed forces of the two countries have seen sustained smooth development, said a senior Chinese general Wednesday.

Fu Quanyou, PLA chief of General Staff of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), made the remarks while he met with Muhammad Yusaf Khan, chief of the General Staff of the Pakistan Army, and his party.

Fu, also a member of the Central Military Commission, said that various celebrations have been held recently to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, which has furthered the friendship between the two countries and their armed forces.

Yusaf conveyed his congratulations to China on winning the bid to host Olympic 2008 and he believed that bilateral relations will continue to see smooth development.

On Tuesday, Chi Haotian, vice-chairman of China's Central Military Commission, met with Yusaf and his party.
