Over 500 Business Representatives to Have dialogues with APEC Customs

More than 500 business representatives from home and abroad have registered to attend the coming APEC Customs-Business Dialogue (ACBD), scheduled to begin Monday in Shanghai.

A hundred and thirty-six overseas business representatives and 368 business representatives from China's mainland will come for the meeting, sources with the General Administration of Customs said.

The large number of businessmen to talk with the APEC customs authorities show that with the development of economic globalization, free trade and information technology, the business circles pay growing attention to the coordination with the customs and the improvement of customs' functions, said an official with the organizing committee of the dialog.

At the ACBD, the two sides will try to find ways to build a more efficient and convenient trade environment that is guided by regulations and brings prosperity.

In line with the APEC goal of liberalization of trade and investment, the theme of current ACBD meeting is "The New Economy - - Moving Customs-Business Partnership and Trade Facilitation to the Next Level."

During the meeting, delegates will also visit a newly-built international express delivery supervision center and an advanced container examination system in Shanghai.
