Int'l Forum on Chinese Poetry Held

The Sixth International Forum on Chinese poetry opened on August 20 in Dalian, a coastal city of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Over 100 poets from China's mainland and 17 foreign countries and regions participated in the opening ceremony of the forum, which ends August 23.

The International Forum on Chinese Poetry was established in 1993, with the aim to strengthen academic exchange and unity of poets writing in the Chinese language.

Up to now, the forum has contacted poets in 27 countries and regions. The previous five forums were held in Huizhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Sanya and Guilin, all in south China.
