Typhoon Death Toll in Taiwan Rises to 66: Report
The death toll from Typhoon Nari rose to 66 with 23 still missing as the island struggled to get back to its feet on Wednesday after the storm dumped record amounts of rain.

The local disaster response centre said the victims drowned, were buried under landslides or electrocuted by downed power lines.

At least 23 people were missing and 158 injured after Nari turned roads inTaipei into torrents of water that flowed past second-storey windows in Taipei's worst-ever flood.

Financial markets were scheduled to reopen on Wednesday after closing for two days due to the devastating typhoon.

At 2100 GMT on Tuesday, Nari was 40 km (25 miles) south-southwest of the southern city of Tainan and moving at four kph (2.5 mph).
