Chinese Vice-Premier Meets Foreign Delegates to Environmental Conference

Chinese Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao met Tuesday with foreign delegates to the International Conference on Environmental Concerns and Emerging Abatement Technologies.

Wen told the delegates that China has made enormous efforts in the past years to control environmental pollution to achieve sustainable development, and the Chinese government will actively support international cooperation in the field of environmental technology and research.

The four-day conference starting from Tuesday is jointly sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
