Beijing Marks 70th Anniversary of Founding of Chinese Soviet Republic

Beijing Marks 70th Anniversary of Founding of Chinese Soviet Republic
Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao said hard work and following the Party principles -- time-honored traditions of the Communist Party of China (CPC) -- are still vital for keeping the Party and the state political power vigorous.

Hu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark at a symposium held Wednesday in Beijing marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Provisional Central Government of Chinese Soviet Republic and the central revolutionary base.

Hu, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, recalled the splendid history and the fine traditions and working style of the Party.

He said the Party principle is a lifeline which guarantees the Party's success. History has fully proved that people are the springboard of the Party's strength.

Under no circumstances will the Party alter its practice of sharing success and heartbreak with the public or its tenet of serving the people wholeheartedly.

Hu said the simple, clean, and efficient work style that has been advocated by the government bodies of the Chinese Soviet Republic are important.

He said all Party members should work selflessly for the public interests, resist the corrupt influence of the decadent ideologies, and further improve the Party's work style by building a clean government.

He called on implementation of the thought of "three represent's" by President Jiang Zemin and the spirit of the Sixth Plenum of the 15th CPC Central Committee, and to work even harder for realizing the great goal set for the new century.
