Vietnam Marks 10th Anniversary of Normalization of Vietnam-China Ties

A symposium was held in Vietnam's north border province Lang Son on Friday to mark the 10th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-China relations.

Addressing an opening speech at the symposium with the title "Review and Prospect of 10 Years of the Vietnam-China Relations," Nguyen Duy Quy, president of the National Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of Vietnam, said that in the past 10 years of the normalization of Vietnam-China relations, the relationship between the two parties and the two countries has been increasingly developing, conforming with not only the long-term interest of the two countries and the two peoples, but also the trend of the peace and stability in the region and the world.

The symposium, Quy said, is a good opportunity for the scholars of the two countries to exchange, analyze and assess the achievements and experiences of the 10-years normalization of the Vietnam-China relationship, putting forward suggestions for further promoting the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Making a speech at the symposium, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son Province Doan Ba Nhien said the achievement that Lang Son province has attained in the past 10 years embodies the results of the normalization of the Vietnam-China relations.

The Vietnamese north border province, which borders China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region, will further carry out the policies of opening up and international integration to build Lang Son into a prosperous border province to the further development of the Vietnam-China friendly cooperation, he said.
