Beijing Broadcasting Institute

Beijing Broadcasting Institute (BBI) is an institute of higher learning directly under the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China, and the highest institute of radio, film and television education in China. Founded in March 1954, it has now developed into a comprehensive institute of higher learning with journalism, art, engineering, foreign languages and administration as its major academic disciplines. The institute has a group of professors and scholars well-known both at home and abroad who are training postgraduates, second academic degree students, undergraduates, upgrading junior college students, junior college students, distance education students and part time students. Particularly, BBI is world-renowned for training standard Chinese language announcers.

At present, this Institute has 6 schools of journalism and communication, radio and presentation art, television electronics, engineering, recording arts and adult education, with 15 departments in total.

This Institute has been enrolling foreign students for 10 years. With experienced teachers and complete living facilities, it can provide excellent services. Now more than 100 foreign students are studying Chinese language in the Chinese Language Teaching Center for Foreigners or studying for undergraduate or graduate academic degrees in different departments at BBI. The Institute is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, along the Beijing-Tong County expressway. The transportation is very convenient. It is about a 40-minute drive to the Capital International Airport, and a half hour’s drive to the city center and Tiananmen Square.
