BEIJING, June 19 -- China's anti-graft authority on Thursday published details of the rectifications made by provinces and departments inspected in 2013.

From October last year, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) ran a two-month round of inspections, visiting 10 provinces and departments. In February, the CCDI gave feedback on its inspection work to those examined.

They include the provinces of Jilin, Shanxi, Anhui, Hunan, Guangdong and Yunnan as well as the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Ministry of Commerce, the Xinhua News Agency, and the Three Gorges Corporation.

All of them have made rectifications based on the feedback and published details of this work, investigating officials suspected of violations and eradicating undesirable work styles.

The Ministry of Commerce has given administrative punishments to two officials guilty of violations. Eight officials with the Ministry of Land and Resources, including five at director level, one at vice director level and two at division level, have received Party and administrative punishments.

Jilin has filed 1,986 investigations after the inspection, and wound up 2,292 cases, with over 2,300 persons being punished, while Shanxi has concluded 1,320 investigations based on clues found by inspection team, punishing over 800 persons.

The provinces and departments also made rectification in fields involving the undesirable work styles like formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance. The CPC provincial committee of Shanxi said it will return provincial-level officials' houses which the inspectors found to be excessively grand.

Guangdong Province addressed the issue of "naked officials," or those whose spouse and children have emigrated overseas, demoting many such officials.

In Jilin, two former provincial-level officials resigned from their positions in financial institutions, and another one has been investigated for suspected serious violations of discipline.
