People’s Daily Online: Would you please give the players some words of encouragement?

John Gallagher: I can say players don’t need any words or encouragement. They all know this is the biggest tournament in the world. This is the best chance to show the English football. Some players probably have the last chance in the world cup, the last chance to show what they can do. So I am sure they don’t need any extra motivation from me. But all of England fans want the team to do well.

People’s Daily Online: I think whatever the final ranking is, England has always been a world football power. What factors contributed to the high level of English football? 

John Gallagher: I think part of the factors in England is the home of football, people recognize that and it is part of culture in very kind of deep way. Lots of young boys and girls play football from young age, and have them for long time. And it is a sort of game, kids can play, they don’t need have lots requirements. That really helps high level parts of patience in Britain. I think because it is such culturally important sports for us, is one where some best athletes in Britain, also some become football athletes. Lots of young sport people want to play football that means there is a huge talent pool that we can draw from.

Also I think the part of British culture is working as a team, working with each other. So that a worth asset as the football is not an individual sport, is an opportunity work as a team. Because that is kids learn and play from early age, is real testament that team experience that we have in UK.
