President Xi Jinping's two-day visit to the Republic of Korea will be a landmark in the history of China's diplomacy and the development of China-ROK relations. The two sides will sign 12 agreements including trade, finance, consular affairs and the environment.

Xi’s visit will be the president’s first visit to the Republic of Korea since he took office last year, and also his first overseas trip to one country exclusively. President Xi will meet his ROK counterpart, Park Geun-hye, National Assembly Speaker Chung Eui-hwa and Prime Minister Jung Hong-won. Xi will also give a speech at Seoul National University and attend activities to promote ties. Boosting economic cooperation is also high on President Xi’s agenda.

Xi will attend a business forum between China and the ROK, where a large group of business representatives will be in attendance, including Baidu CEO Li Yanhong, Alibaba CEO Ma Yun, Huawei’s founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei, and Bank of China Chairman Tian Guoli. During the forum, the ROK Pohang Iron and Steel will sign deals with Chongqing Iron and Steel Group, the largest state-owned industrial enterprise in the Chongqing Municipality.
