| Jaulian are the ruins of an ancient Buddhist monastery which are quite close to Taxila, an ancient town and archeological site in northwestern Pakistan. The ruins consist of two main parts: the main stupa and the monastery of Jaulian. Taxila was an important Buddhist centre of learning from the 5th century B.C. to the 2nd century A.D.
