Sydney, July 28 (People’s Daily Online) -- Professional Chinese paper-doll making teachers are invited to seven public schools in Sydney to share the making of Hanika, well-known paper dolls popular in Daur ethnic families in China.

According to Su Mei, one of the teachers, the process of making Hanika often involves paper cutting, crafting and decorating using colored papers, which can develop children’s crafting skills, creativity and innovation.

The activity is organized by the China Cultural Centre in Sydney, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of understanding and appreciation for Chinese culture and the arts through educational and cultural activities. It offers Chinese traditional arts courses, lectures and seminars on art, culture, heritage and traditional medicine, as well as films, concerts and information services. (Li Yiming)
