MANILA, Aug. 11 -- Public satisfaction with the government of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III fell to a record low in the second quarter, according to the results of a survey released by private research institute Social Weather Stations (SWS) on Monday.
Results of the survey, which were first published in local newspaper BusinessWorld, showed that the Aquino government garnered a net satisfaction rating of +29 or "moderate."
The latest net satisfaction rating is lower than the +45 or " good" obtained by the Aquino government in the first quarter of the year.
The SWS survey also showed that respondents gave the Philippine government failing marks in fighting hunger and inflation, controlling oil prices and resolving the Maguindanao massacre case.
The nationwide survey was conducted from June 27 to 30 and involved face to face interviews with 1,200 respondent.
Despite the downgrade in net satisfaction rating, Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the government will not be "bothered " or "paralyzed" by the survey's results.
