BEIJING, August 29 (People’s Daily Online)—S. Sudan will be committed to peace and stability and protect its Chinese investors, said Marial Benjamin, foreign minister of S. Sudan on Wednesday.

S. Sudan’s situation has been unstable, which is affecting Chinese investors’ operation in the country. South Sudan's President Salva Kiir had assured Chinese government that its government would try its best to protect the Chinese investors.

Benjamin added that the United Nations has deployed peace-keeping forces, including Chinese army, in S. Sudan. All these can contribute to the safety of Chinese investors.

Peace and stability is prerequisite for economic development, Benjamin noted. S. Sudan would like to make utmost efforts in promoting ceasefire, dialogues and reconciliation.

Benjamin expects more Chinese enterprises to invest in S. Sudan. To create a stable investment environment, S. Sudan decides to implement the reforms of security sectors. He also welcomed more Chinese enterprises to learn more about S. Sudan via visiting it when the country restores peace in future.
