After the Mid-Autumn Festival, the beggar counts his money in the post office. According to the postal clerks, every month, the man will come to the post office and send back home 10,000 yuan. (The Beijing News/ Guo Yongfang Liu Suhong)

It is a poor old beggar, bony and frail, who curries up in the corner of a post office counting a pile of money, all in one yuan and five jiao notes. It is a wealthy 'fat cat' who owns a two-storey building and earns around 10,000 yuan a month. And it is accidentally inevitable that they are the same person.

A photo of this professional beggar has shocked the Internet recently and also successfully helped him earn a great deal of sympathy.

The phony panhandler comes from east China's Jiangsu province and makes a living by begging at Beijing West Railway Station. The money he sends back home per month can reach the amount of more than 10,000 yuan. "He always counts his money on the floor in the office, with those one yuan and five jiao notes spreading out all over the floor," a postal clerk says. "If anyone helps him to count the money, he would give tips to the warm-hearted helper. Actually he is one of our key account customers now." In the three-day-long Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the man earned more than 20,000 yuan, and it took him three days to send all the money home.
