BEIJING, Oct. 14 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Kim Moo-sung, chairman of the New Frontier Party of the Republic of Korea (ROK), here on Tuesday and called for more interaction between the ruling parties of the two countries.

Recalling his state visit to the ROK in July, Xi said he and his ROK counterpart Park Geun-hye reached important consensus on strengthening the strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries.

"China stands ready to share development opportunities with the ROK, work with the ROK side to address common challenges, boost cooperation in an all-around way, and make unremitting efforts to achieve prosperity for the two countries as well as promote peace and stability in the region," said the Chinese president.

Xi asked Kim to convey his greetings to Park, noting that he looks forward to another meeting with the ROK president during the forthcoming 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, scheduled for Nov. 10-11 in Beijing.

Xi, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said exchanges and cooperation between the CPC and the New Frontier Party, or the Saenuri Party, will greatly strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The two parties should step up high-level interaction, deepen experience sharing on governance and cement friendship between young politicians from both sides to contribute to the establishment of a more matured strategic partnership between China and the ROK.

Kim conveyed Park's greetings to Xi and lauded the development of the bilateral relationship.

The New Frontier Party is willing to increase communication through dialogue with the CPC with a view to deepening the bilateral relationship in a sustained way, he said.

Kim arrived in Beijing on Monday. On Tuesday, the party chief attended the first round of party policy dialogue between the Chinese and ROK ruling parties.
