A total of 4 wild giant salamanders were released back to nature in Changsha on July 2 after recovery from injuries or sickness in varying degrees. They were rescued by local citizens and transferred to Changsha Sea World for treatment. Giant salamander is the largest and most precious amphibian in the world known today. It is also a Class II protected species of the national government of China.
