China Breaks Second Shooting World Record(20021003)

China broke the second world shooting record in the Asian Games on Wednesday. The Chinese team led by Li Jie scored a new world record of 1,788 points to win the men's air rifle team title. The previous mark of 1,785 was set by Russia in the world championships in July.  

China Wins First Shooting Gold at Asiad(20021003)

China won the first shooting gold of the Asiad when they took the team title of the women's 10m air rifle event with a new world record.  

China wins women's team title of gymnastics(20021003)

Chinese gymnasts secured the women's team title Wednesday at the ongoing 14th Asian Games, which is scheduled from Sept. 29 to oct. 14, while DPRK finished second. The Chinese team accumulated 147.75 scores, well ahead of DPRK's 138.825 and Japan's 137.825.

Zhou Yafei wins women's 100m butterfly Asiad gold(20021003)

Zhou Yafei won the gold medal of the women's 100m butterfly at the 14th Asian Games on Wednesday. Zhou Yafei was timed at 58.88 seconds, followed by Yuko Nakanishi of Japan in the second place at 1:00.18. Yeo Wei Ling Joscelin of Singapore finished third at 1:01.06. 

Le Maosheng Wins Men's 62kg Weightlifting with World Record(20021003)

Chinese hercules Le Maosheng lifted aworld record weight in the clean and jerk en route to winning the gold medal of the men's 62kg category at the 14th Asian Games Wednesday evening.  

China win their opener in women's soccer at Asiad(20021003)

China beat Chinese Taipei at the Asiad women's soccer competitions, which kicked off Wednesday.

The 2002 NBA top pick Yao Ming scored22 points grabbed 13 rebounds to lift China over Chinese Taipei 113-50 Wednesday afternoon in a second round match of the Busan Asian Games men's basketball.

Chinese 1-2 in women's 10m air rifle final (20021002)

Zhao Yinghui led fellow Chinese Gao Jing to a 1-2 finish at the women's 10m air rifle event of the Asian Games Wednesday. Zhao scored 501.4 points, beating Gao by 0.4 points. South Korean Park Un-kyong took the bronze with 500.6 points.

China Wins First Rowing Gold at Asian Games (20021002)

Zhu Zhifu of China took the first rowing gold medal at the Asian Games Wednesday. Hitoshi Hase of Japan finished second, followed by Law Hiu Fungof Hong Kong, China in the third place.
