Professional Experience:
Before coming to the United States to be a residential correspondent, Tang had been a news editor at international desk of People's Daily for eight years. During those years, he edited many international news stories and also visited Romania, Hungary, Russia and some Central Asian countries. He attended international courses on the Role of Opinion Molders in Tel Aviv under the invitation of Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001. He participated in the Journalists in Europe Program in Paris under the invitation of French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003.
As a People's Daily Washington-based correspondent, Tang is responsible for covering American economy. It is a very interesting and challenging beat for any journalist since the US is the largest and most important economy in the world. Tang has written extensively about that important topic.
