The Royal New Zealand Ballet has been dazzling audiences on a tour of China with its production of "Giselle". (CRI Online)

ABT principal dancer Gillian Murphy will make a special guest appearance as Giselle, under the direction of her fiancee, Ethan Stiefel. And, dancing opposite with Murphy is Chinese native Qi Huan, who is a principal dancer in the Royal Ballet. It will be his home-coming performance and it’s sure to be special for both his family and friends and dance fans alike.

Murphy and Stiefel were both principle dancers at the American Ballet Theater, or ABT, until 2011 when Stiefel became artistic director of the New Zealand Ballet. Their love story is the talk of the ballet world.

Stiefel says the new version, which premiered at the end of last year and is choreographed by himself and Johan Kobborg, is dedicated to Murphy, his wife-to-be.
