Economic zone of the Silk Road a great opportunity for tourism in Shaanxi

In early September 2013, President Xi Jinping attended a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, evoking a great vision, a creation of an "economic zone of the Silk Road " in West Asia. The possible emergence of a win-win situation in political and economic terms in this part of the world has attracted the attention of the international community for this idea.

This idea of "economic zone of the Silk Road" has greatly stimulated the imagination of the region in terms of international tourism. As the most advanced province in tourism among the western provinces, Shaanxi, starting point of the ancient Silk Road, region of origin of the family of President Xi, is being shown unprecedented enthusiasm for this "economic zone of the Silk Road,"it also plays a pioneering role in innovation in international tourism.

What is the "economic zone of the Silk Road"?

Economic Zone of the road is the formation of a new economic development zone based on the concept of the ancient Silk Road . The New Silk Road economic belt holds the Asia-Pacific Economic Circle at the east, and ties the developed European economic circle in the west line. It is considered "the longest economic corridor with the most potential development in the world ."

President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at Nazarbayev University, proposing to build "economic zone of the Silk Road " on September 7, 2013.

Xi Jinping has suggested that to strengthen economic ties and deepen more mutual cooperation between European and Asian countries, and enlarge space for development, an innovative way of cooperation can be used to build the "economic zone Route Silk ", this is a great way that will benefit the peoples of all countries along this road.

Chinese President Xi Jinping tabled a five-point proposal on furthering pragmatic cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.

Firstly, Xi urged the two countries to raise the volume of two-way trade to five billion U.S. dollars by 2017. He called on the two to start talks on a free-trade zone as early as possible and expand mutual investment.

Secondly, China and Uzbekistan should deepen energy cooperation by ensuring the safe and stable operation of the China-Uzbekistan gas pipeline and expanding cooperation in such areas as natural gas processing, oil shale development and renewable energy, he said.

Thirdly, the two countries should promote infrastructure connectivity, Xi said, urging them to complete as soon as possible the rail and road networks linking China, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Fourthly, they should build joint special industrial zones and agricultural demonstration parks, expand local-currency settlement as well as beef up cooperation in science and technology, he said.

Lastly, Xi called on the two countries to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
