BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has just wrapped up his two-nation trip to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and attendance at the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), during which he delivered a keynote speech.
More than 2,000 years ago, the ancient Silk Road was opened by the people in China and Central Asia, driven by a desire for friendship and mutual learning, thus starting a great era of exchanges between civilizations. In the more recent era, a “new Silk Road” has brought China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan together again— the Belt and Road Initiative.
Teenage years are a critical formative period in one’s life. The same can be said for an international organization as well.
