Sina Lions Wins in Chinese Basketball Association

Newcomers Sina Lions and Shaanxi Gaitianli won astonishing game each again on Sunday to even their win-loss records to 6-6 after the first-round of the regular season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

Newcomers Sina Lions and Shaanxi Gaitianli won astonishing game each again on Sunday to even their win-loss records to 6-6 after the first-round of the regular season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

Sina, most of whose players from Taiwan, won its third straight game over Beijing Olympian, 103-90 on the road after two home victories in Beijing.

Forward Huang Chunxiong led Sina, who is playing in its first season in CBA, with 25 points and 13 rebounds, with the help of sharp shooter Luo Xingliang, who scored 22 points on 6-10 from behind the arc.

Shaanxi's American center Garth chipped in 45 points and grabbed 24 rebounds for a 94-90 win over Jilin Northeast Tigers. Jilin's American forward Roderick Gragoire topped his team with 41 points and 19 rebounds.

Both Sina and Shaanxi are tying with Beijing Olympian and Zhejiang Cyclones, who lost to leader Shanghai Sharks 119-99, in the middle of the standings.

Liu Yudong had one of his best games this season, snapping down 50 points, 11 steals and nine rebounds to lead Bayi Rockets for a 146-105 slash of Jiangsu Dragons on Saturday. Teammate Li Nan contributed 40 points.

In other matches, Beijing Ducks defeated the winless Shenzhen Yikang 101-84 on the road, while Guangdong Hongyuan edged off Liaoning Hunters 104-100.
