The main suspect in the murder of the Assistant Superintendent of Customs Sujith Prasana Perera has been arrested after nearly one year's hiding, sources with the police said here Saturday.

Anura Weerasinghe who is also an assistant superintendent of Customs was arrested by a team of Criminal Investigation Department officers on Friday at Horana area, about 20 kilometers southeast of capital Colombo.
A businessman, the owner of a palatial house where the suspect was hiding, was also arrested.
Anura Weerasinghe has been in hiding in the country and neighboring India. He returned home several weeks ago, police said.
Perera, 33, was murdered on March 24 last year when an unknown group gunned him down while he was driving his car returning from her mother-in-law's residence. He was involved in a series of major probes into business establishments.
