S.Korea, DPRK to Hold Talks on Relinking Railways, Roads

South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Wednesday agreed on holding a meeting of working-level officials at the Mount Geumgang on Oct. 12-14, to discuss planned reconnection of inter-Korean railways and roads.

South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Wednesday agreed on holding a meeting of working-level officials at the Mount Geumgang on Oct. 12-14, to discuss planned reconnection of inter-Korean railways and roads.

The agreement was made in telephone message exchanges between Vice Finance and Economy Minister Yoon Jin-shik, South Korean chairman of the inter-Korean economic cooperation committee, and his DPRK's counterpart Pak Chang-ryon, according to national news agency Yonhap News.

The two sides also agreed to open the first round of working-level talks for the construction of the Kaesong industrial complex in DPRK from Oct. 25 to Oct. 27.

South Korea and DPRK have started the reconnection work of the inter-Korean railways and roads on Sept. 18 under the joint statement declared by the two sides at the end of the second inter-Korean economic cooperation talks on Aug. 27-30.
