Israel Asks US for 10 Billion Dollars in Financial Support

Israel has asked the United States for 4 billion US dollars in aid and an additional 6 billion dollars in loan guarantees, Israel Radio reported on Tuesday.

The request was made by Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, who is on a visit to the United States, the report said.

Local media reported last month that US President George W. Bushwas willing to confer special aid to Israel to cope with its current economic difficulties.
