Microsoft to Further Expand Investment in Beijing

On February 27, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Informationization Office of Beijing Municipal Government and Microsoft China co-signed a memorandum of cooperation in Beijing to jointly promote the development of Beijing's software industry. According to the memorandum, Microsoft China will in coming years further expand investment in Beijing and conduct a wide range of cooperation.

On February 27, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Informationization Office of Beijing Municipal Government and Microsoft China co-signed a memorandum of cooperation in Beijing to jointly promote the development of Beijing's software industry. According to the memorandum, Microsoft China will in coming years further expand investment in Beijing and conduct a wide range of cooperation such as e-government, software outsourcing and intellectual training, in a bid to bolster the development of the software industry.

Besides, Microsoft will in next five years invest US$ 2.2mn for setting up a computer-technological innovation laboratory so as to help Chinese computer producers with quality and compatibility test between hardware and driving process. In the meantime, Microsoft will introduce its hardware designers to the laboratory, sharing its intellectual property rights with domestic producers. Moreover, Microsoft will place orders to software enterprises in Beijing for various services of software outsourcing, and promised to train 600 software architects and 600 large-scaled software engineering project managers in Zhongguancun software industry base at the state level within three years.
