Israeli troops stationed on the bordersbetween Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip and Egypt shot and killed on Friday a British cameraman, witnesses said.
They said that James Moller, a British citizen and a cameraman who works for a British company for producing documentary films was filming clashes near the borders between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers, adding that the cameraman was suddenly hit in his neck.
The journalist was shot in the neck and taken from the scene inan Israeli armored vehicle. He died before a helicopter sent to evacuate him arrived, Israeli army spokesman Jacob Dalal said.
The witnesses said that the cameraman, 43, felt on the ground bleeding, while Palestinian ambulances were not able to reach him because of the intensive Israeli heavy gunfire in the area.
Israeli troops killed a few weeks ago an American peace activist after an Israeli army bulldozer hit her while she was trying to prevent the bulldozer from destroying one of the Palestinian homes in the area.
Two weeks later, another British peace activist was shot in thehead and was critically injured, also by Israeli troops' gunfire.
Rafah town is considered as one of the most tensed areas in thePalestinian territories that had attended fierce gun battles between the Israelis and the Palestinians since the outbreak of the intifada, or uprising against Israeli occupation in September 2000.
