Tianma Official Confirms Gazza's Return to China

Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne is certain to play again for China's second division soccer side Gansu Tianma despite a late return from holidays, a top club official said here on Tuesday.

Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne is certain to play again for China's second division soccer side Gansu Tianma despite a late return from holidays, a top club official said here on Tuesday.

Chinese football season was interrupted because of the outbreakof SARS, but the 1990 World Cup star should have been back in the club as required.

Zhang Tongpo, general manager of Tianma, told Xinhua: "Gazza's agent has contacted him on Monday after receiving the club's call.We were told that Gazza has no intention to leave the club. He iscertain to come back. "

Zhang also confirmed that Gascoigne also promised further talkswith the club on commercial development. "As a world-famed star, he is unlikely to breach a contract he has signed," Zhang added.
