Hillary Clinton's Book Sales Top a Million

Sales of former US first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton's book "Living History" has surpassed 1 million copies in a month, her publisher announced Wednesday.

Sales of former US first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton's book "Living History" has surpassed 1 million copies in a month, her publisher announced Wednesday.

"What has been particularly exciting is the speed with which ithas achieved such unprecedented sales levels," Simon & Schuster executive Carolyn Reidy said in a statement.

In the memoir about her 8-year life in the White House, SenatorHillary Clinton recounted her personal pain and shock at her husband Bill Clinton's affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Simon & Schuster signed an 8 million dollars deal with Hillary for writing the book. It ordered 1 million copies for the first printing, an extraordinarily high number for a nonfiction book.

The book hit stores June 9 and it's first-day sales topped 200,000 amid a wave of publicity and book signing appearances by Hillary Clinton.
