State commercial banks report lower ratio of NPL

China's four state-owned commercialbanks had lowered their ratio of non-performing loans by 4.83 percentage points by the end of September compared with the beginning of this year.

China's four state-owned commercialbanks had lowered their ratio of non-performing loans by 4.83 percentage points by the end of September compared with the beginning of this year.

The non-performing loans surplus had reduced by over 88.8 billion RMB yuan (10.7 billion US dollars) during the period, saidan official with the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) Friday.

The CBRC has urged the four state commercial banks, namely China Construction Bank, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Bank of China and the Agricultural Bank of China, to continue lowering their non-performing loan ratio.
