The 52-year-old football team of Chinese People's Liberation Army or Bayi football club was disbanded last Friday.

The decision was taken as China's PLA decided to lay off some 200 thousand soldiers and officials and players in the team are free to transfer to other clubs.

The team has a good record over its more than 50-year history and nurtured the talents of top Chinese striker Hao Haidong , however the quality of the team's performances have declined in recent years.
